I offer online private Bambara, Dioula and Malinké lessons for motivated students. I'm based in Hamburg, Germany so these are typically via Skype and a shared Google doc that functions like a blackboard.
In such cases, I prepare lessons based on their needs and preferences. Some students are Returned Peace Corps Volunteers with strong competency in Manding, but they are looking for a series of conversations with formal grammar lessons included as holes in their formal knowledge are revealed. Others are familiar with greetings and certain fixed expressions through family members or travels but they are looking for a set of lessons so that they can formulate their own sentences and engage in basic conversations. And some people are planning on visiting the region for the first-time and would like to start from scratch.
Depending on your timeline and goals, we can setup a series of lessons or you can do things à la carte. You can book a lesson or intro conversation with me here:
My rate is typically $50 an hour for private lessons. If you become a monthly patron of An ka taa however you can get a monthly 40% discount code that brings the hourly rate down to $35 (along with some others perks) — have a look on our Patreon page:
Alternatively, I sometimes charge less depending on the circumstances. For group lessons or classes, I can also make special arrangements.
