This is a write-up of "school announcements" — news and updates — specifically for those you that are An ka taa students.
General
First up, I've launched the new "An ka taa" Subscriber Space – a custom platform for all current students to access all of their course and learning materials for Bambara/Jula and Maninka.
Bambara/Jula
For our Bambara/Jula learners, I have some exciting additions at both the Beginner and Intermediate levels:
At the Beginner level:
I've added a workbook chapter for Benedictions to help you master the art of giving blessings. It's also been integrated into the Beginner Bambara course.
I've released two chapters in the experimental "Dò Fò" workbook: Greetings Extended and Non-Verbal Practice.
I added two "missions" to the first unit of the Beginner Bambara course: “Make a Schedule” and “Join Community”. They are meant to better set you up for success in a course that is self-paced and online.
At the Intermediate level:
There's a new version of the "Na baro kè" workbook as part of the migration to the new Subscriber Space.
Similarly, there's a new Kuma Bakolo workbook.
I've been doing a regular "Question of the Week" discussion with feedback in the Discord + Forum's Study Space. Most recently: "I mana kɛ sogo walima bɛgɛn ye, i bɛ kɛ mun ye? Munna?" Join to see the vocab, responses and my feedback!
Maninka
For you Maninka learners, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you!
I'm delighted to announce the near completion of our Beginner Maninka course. All of the main assignments are done, so anyone can now take the course! I am still working to complete the video lessons before a public launch.
I have created a chapter for Goodbye in the experimental "Do Fò" workbook.
