Level & Hours

This subscription's materials are meant to aid the study and reviewing of someone who has completed or is comfortable with all the topics covered in the Beginner Bambara course.

Assuming that you have already completed all of the grammar covered in the Beginner Bambara course, you will likey need to study for at least 15-20 hours to be able to complete all the new grammar topics, as well as the additional workbook-style chapters.

Questions
 

Is my Bambara/Jula/Maninka level right for the Intermediate Subscription? If you are a complete beginner, it's best to start with the full online Beginner Bambara course. If you are comfortable with all of the material covered in the course, but you are looking for way to keep practicing Manding, then the subscription is right for you.

How is my subscription related to Basic Bambara, Na baro kè, Kuma Bakolo or other An ka taa videos on YouTube? The subscription provides access to expanded "virtual" books that complement the video series on YouTube. The books are made up of different combinations of texts, vocab lists, flashcards and interactive exercises.

Why should I sign up for a subscription if I can just watch An ka taa videos for free on YouTube? The videos on YouTube show, explain or explore the Manding language, but they don’t offer a way to practice or assess's one's comfort with the vocabulary or grammar that they cover. A subscription is for those that want or need additional assistance with their learning.

Can I preview the materials that are included in a subscription? Yes! Above there are links to all of the materials that go along with a Na baro kè video. You can also view a sample for Basic Bambara here and a sample for Kuma Bakolo here.
