Alima and Her Bambara Proverb Book Project

Aw ni ce! It's my pleasure to share the latest video in the running series of An ka taa profile videos. It’s about my friend Alima and her project to create a book of 365 Bambara proverbs — one a day — translated into English and French.

In the video, I’ve tried to capture the essence of both Alima’s project and provide a snapshot of part of her life. Filmed at her home in Abidjan (though she's originally from Mali), you’ll see some behind-the-scenes moments, hear about the challenges she’s faced, and of course, get a sneak peek of the final form that the book is going to take.

And yes, the whole video is in Bambara/Dioula with English and French subtitles so you can follow along with each and every word in the original or in translation.

Special thanks to the An ka taa patrons that help make this and all the other video projects possible!
