Malian Thoughts on Abidjan

Aw ni ce! It’s my pleasure to share the latest An ka taa video. It’s a special episode that I am calling a Na baro kè Vlog. You can watch it by clicking here or via the embed above.

It fits in to the vein of Na baro kè because it’s a conversation in Bambara with subtitles (in Bambara, English and French) so that you can read along in whatever language you want.

But it’s not Na baro kè because it’s not a series of street interviews with multiple people. Instead, it’s a conversation with a single person: my friend Mariam while we take a taxi to go run an errand at Forum market of Adjamé in Abidjan.

Specifically, we talk about her impressions of Abidjan and Côte d’Ivoire as a first-time visitor from Mali. So it has the look and feel of a vlog, I guess. The name makes me cringe, but it is what most AKT audience members have suggested, so I am rolling with it for now.

I hope you like this special edition of Na baro kè! Any feedback or thoughts, please let me know!
